Intro to Solstice

Who is Solstice?

So, Solstice is basically this hybrid of a cat and a polar bear—kinda unique, right? He’s a more mature, refined version of me, figuring himself out and trying to be creative while helping others along the way. The reason he exists is thanks to a friend, @decentra11zed, who helped get me out of the closet about being a furry — from that moment, Solstice was born.

Personality Traits

Loyal, Creative, and (Surprisingly) Charming: I like to think he’s really dedicated to his friends, pretty inventive, and has this charm I wish I had in real life, lol.

Can’t Stop Helping: He loves supporting people, sometimes maybe a little too much. He’s also really into languages and communication, even though he deals with hearing loss.

A Whole Different Person Around Friends: My friends say I'm cute and caring, and I tend to yap a lot—so Solstice is like that too. With strangers, he’s friendly but has major boundaries; it takes a while to get close.

Thinks Too Deep Sometimes: He gets kinda stuck thinking about what happens after we die and the whole point of existence—stuff like that.

Big Dreams: He really wants to help people in cool, innovative ways and maybe have a family someday.

Pet Peeves: It really frustrates him when people don’t listen, are super stubborn, or waste their second chances.

Design & Appearance

Solstice has an average, toned build—athletic but not huge. His design is all about symmetry and cool colours:

Fur: Soft white fur (eeebf6) covers his chest, belly, inner thighs, lower face, paws, and the back of his tail. The body is split down the middle in a mirrored pattern — bright green (94fecc) on the right and soft lavender (b793ff) on the left, continuing across the back and the top of the tail and taking up the tip.

Stripes & Markings: Each side has darker, tiger-like stripes — 620ff5 on the right and 19c16c on the left — giving a gradient-like symmetry where the split runs down the centre. He has black paw pads and claws.

Eyes & Face: Each eye is a brighter version of its side colour, and he always wears large, circular glasses.

Build: Average/toned, athletic but not overly muscular.

Tail: A large, fluffy two-toned tail with the same half-green / half-purple split and tiger-like striping.

Clothes: Mostly just the circular glasses, though sometimes he’ll wear a crop top hoodie or a black suit.

Meaning: His design ties to the sun's max/min incline — the brightest days (green) and the darker days (purple). I also pulled a bit of inspiration from my favourite videogame, Omori — the main character Sunny was a small nudge for the name.

Backstory

When Solstice was born, he grew up near some forests in a suburban area, but he never really fit in with others his age. He always got along better with older people, which was kinda lonely but also made him mature faster. Big life changes, like graduations, were really important for him, shaping who he became. He’s super close with his mom—it’s more like a sister relationship—and he has a small group of really close friends.

Fun Facts

• Favourite Food: Unironically loves plain bread and those single-wrapped processed cheese slices. They’re just funny.
• Hobbies: Loves hanging out with friends, working on random projects, and exploring forests.
• Special Skills: He’s weirdly fast, like cheetah-speed, and he can meow. Also, he has ridiculous plot armor.
• Name Meaning: His name comes from the summer and winter solstices—the longest day and longest night—which matches his green and purple colours. It was also low-key inspired by Sunny from Omori.
